This Week in the Shack

This week marks the fifth anniversary of Katrina's landfall along the Gulf Coast, and The Shotgun Shack presents a set of Louisiana music - from New Orleans and the surrounding area - in recognition. (I've not forgotten that the Mississippi coast was just as badly damaged - my country blues show two weeks ago was probably about as close to an all-Mississippi show as I can effectively do right now.)

More than usual for my New Orleans shows, I think, this set really emphasizes the piano - whether it's in jazz, blues, R&B, or funk, the city has birthed, attracted, and nurtured a truly amazing collection of pianists.
